Studio Adrien Gardère

The Muséobanque installation is a pilot experience, presented at the L’Interface gallery of the Grand Équipement Documentaire (GED) at Campus Condorcet, exploring a new way of understanding the cultural and social value of objects.

Through this collective experiment — drawing inspiration from African cultural banks and developed within the international REVACS network —, research laboratories, cultural institutions, art schools, designers, and social economy actors come together to open up a new field: an economy in which symbolism, memory, and creative expression become levers of empowerment.

Studio Adrien Gardère conceived and designed the installation, featuring four local residents of Aubervilliers: Ana, Jawid, Kama, and Yacine. Their economic initiatives were made possible through microloans secured by the lending of an object and the story associated with it. The loan amount is determined not by the monetary or aesthetic value of the deposited object, but by the symbolic and cultural significance of the trilogy formed by the object, the narrative, and the entrepreneurial project.

For this project, the Studio collaborated with:

Joris Lacoste for the sound editing of interviews conducted by Carlos Semedo with Ana, Jawid, Kama, and Yacine,
Xavier Sauvage from Regard-Caméra to film them full-length, seated on a chair — the same chair that visitors sit on to meet them and listen to their stories.
 

The entire installation — produced by Maisons de la sagesse – Traduire and Campus Condorcet— demonstrates the ambition of a project that connects social innovation, cultural transmission, and civic engagement.
