The Studio Adrien Gardère and its long-term partner On-Situ designed and installed a series of multimedia installations, named Ray-On, on different locations of the Abbaye de Cluny.

Ray-on offers an experience of mixed reality, a still journey. The device integrates live, virtual elements in the real environment, like a real life window on history.

On-Situ Ray On device directed onto a building, an object or a ruin, brings it back to its original setting. The image extends the vision, perspective and time in a direct confrontation between past, present and future.

The luminous environment is captured in real time by a specially developed high dynamic camera (fastlight), showing the existing disappeared or imagined fragments in the same light. The time of day and the weather also affect directly on the image, where real and virtual will merge.
