In 2010, at the "rencontres photographiques" of Arles, the Musée Nicéphore Niépce and on-situ have exhibited their digital creations in a retrospective exhibition entitled "Clear(s) Room(s) : Notes on photography".

As part of this framework, and for the company on-situ, the Studio Adrien Gardère designed the digital board.

The board is an interactive replica of the "point de vue du Gras", the first permanent photograph took by Nicéphore Niépce in 1826 or 1827 at Saint-Loup-de-Varennes.

The device is closed to the original - complex photographic object - restoring the effects linked to the materials of the plate. The view offers a different picture according to its inclination and the brightness of the room. The reflective "material" creates a mixed picture that combines photography, room lights and the reflection of the visitor.
The result is based on an augmented reality device, from the "ray-on" concept, previously developed by on-situ, and installed at the "Abbaye of Cluny", still with the cooperation of the Studio Adrien Gardere.

The digital board is now part of the permanent exhibition of the "Musée Nicéphore Niépce" in Chalon-sur-Saône.

Lors des rencontres photographiques d'Arles 2010, le Musée Nicéphore Niépce et on-situ ont exposé leurs créations numériques au sein d'une exposition rétrospective intitulée "Chambre(s) Claire(s) : Notes sur la photographie".

Dans ce cadre, et pour la société on-situ, le Studio Adrien Gardère a designé l'ardoise numérique.

L’ardoise est une réplique digitale, interactive du «point de vue du Gras», la première photographie permanente réalisée par Nicéphore Niépce en 1826 ou 1827 à Saint-Loup-de-Varennes.

Le dispositif se rapproche au plus près de l’original - objet photographique complexe - en restituant les effets liés aux matériaux de la plaque. Le point de vue offre une image différente selon son inclinaison et la luminosité de la pièce. La «matière» réfléchissante, crée une image mixte où se mêlent la photographie, les lumières de la pièce et le reflet du visiteur.
L’ensemble s’appuie sur un dispositif de réalité augmentée, issu du concept ray-on développé par on-situ, et installé à l'Abbaye de Cluny, toujours avec le Studio Adrien Gardère.

L'ardoise numérique est désormais entrée dans l'exposition permanente du Musée Nicéphore Niépce de Chalon-sur-Saône.
